This Is What I Get for Being Nice?!
I am about to hurt some little children. I do nothing but good things for them, daily. How do they repay me? Do you want to know what I get for being nice?
I took a brief break from mowing to get a drink. I walked into my room to get a different cd to listen to and what do you suppose I found? My room was in the worst state I have ever seen it in. It was beyond a mess. It was a deliberate attempt to anger me. Did it work? Oh yes. Emma and Jayci thought it would be funny to utterly and totally destroy my bedroom. There were clothes dangling from the ceiling fan, plants stuck in all my drawers (which were all opened with clothes hanging out). I found my journals and all my important papers strewn about on the floor, cd's out of their cases all over the floor. I was not happy. They of course, thought it was hilarious. They said they would clean it up. Do you suppose they did? No. I'm going to leave it just like it is and see what Mom will have to say to them when she gets home. That is just NOT acceptable.
So I made them their lunch, as is my duty, and I was as nice as I possibly could be. That wasn't enough. We don't have anything "good" to drink, so they asked me to go the gas station and buy them pop and candy. With whose money? Oh yeah. MINE! Did I do it? Of course I did, hoping it would guilt them into doing something nice for me. Did it work? No. What are they doing now? Playing in their room, acting all sweet and innocent. [Have you noticed that I tend to "question talk" when I'm angry?]
You know what? I don't care. There's nothing I can do about it. This just makes me feel totally unappreciated and useless. As if I never do anything for them. I don't care. I'll just blow it off.
