What is that wretched smell in the kitchen?

Oh my goodness and the mother of all holy things! That was rancid! Never, ever, ever try to get creative in the kitchen. It is a bad thing. We have these little pizzas, okay? So, I figured, eh, they're small...need something else...breadsticks! What goes with breadsticks better than melted cheese to dip it in, right? That was not good, not good at all. That had to be the worst idea I have ever had. I looked to see if we had some Velveeta left over from when Dad made macaroni and cheese the other night...I figured I could add some pepper cheese and have a lovely Pizza Hut- style cheese sauce. Well, we didn't have that, either. So, I grabbed the package of shredded cheese left over from when we had tacos a few nights ago. I put it in a small pan to melt it...Hm...needs something else. Ah-ha! Butter. I added some butter to the melting cheese, thinking it would stretch out the small cheese supply and add some creaminess or whatever. The result? THE FOULEST SMELL I HAVE EVER SMELLED. I don't know if the cheese was bad, or if the butter and cheese just didn't mix well...whatever it was it was NASTY! I gagged and desperately tried to hold back my insides that were dying to spill out. It was like "Fear Factor," man! Hayley was standing there watching me trying to hold my cookies. "Don't inhale," I yelled,"Whatever you do, DON'T INHALE!" She just stood there watching me as I took the defiled pan, dumped out it's contents while holding my breath and gagging, and quickly snatched the trash bag out of the container and rushed it outside. The stench didn't seem to phase her like it did me, but that's a good thing, I guess.
Anyway, that was nasty. I think we will just have plain breadsticks. I'm never doing that again!
